AMLO promises to speed up the crossing back to Tijuana

Today, November 10, 2023, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) promised to solve delays in the return of San Diego-Tijuana border crossing for students within one month.

He made this announcement during his daily “mañanera” press conference as the reporters where notifying that the return crossing to Mexico is typically slower than the crossing to the United States.

The current situation, with wait times often reaching up to two hours, has been a pressing concern for students and their families. AMLO said that he is working with the United States government to find a solution to the problem, and that he is committed to making the border crossing more efficient and less time-consuming for both Mexicans and Americans.

In response to a reporter’s question, AMLO said, “Tomorrow, tomorrow we will speak with the Customs director. And it is a commitment to support.”

Overall, AMLO’s promise to resolve the border crossing issue within one month is good news for San Diego and Tijuana residents. However it remains to be seen whether he will be able to achieve it by the end of 2024.

As an alternative option to cross the border, consider, CrossNow. This service provides a more accessible and an efficient solution for daily commuters who want to reduce their crossing wait times and are looking for a practical user-friendly alternative. It’s a solution we can take on the Mexican side to radically solve the problem.
